THE MONROE HOME
Model B
Carl and Karen Monroe have lived in their 1919
Model B home for 2 years. Many original features are noted including the mantle
and fireplace, fan shaped attic windows and solid wood doors throughout. An addition
was completed last year and features the exposed original wood clapboard exterior
on the back porch and an original Ford Home window that was incorporated into the
design by architect Jason Hayburn, a Park Street resident. On display for the Christmas
season is an Old World Santa collection, handmade Nativity sets created by the mother's
of the homeowners (Joy Gregory and Marion Monroe), and homespun stockings for each
of their grandchildren - Christopher, Ashley, Mia, and Ava. The tea service is part
of the china set collected by Marion Monroe and was started as part of her hope
chest.
