THE STEWART HOME
Model F
Only the fourth owners of this Model F, Mark and
Mia Stewart moved into their home in June 2000 and share the home with their two
children, Abby and Katie. They are both life-long residents of the district as they
reside in Mia's childhood home and Mark grew up on Gregory Street. Note the original
features including the door pediment, brick on the fireplace and hearth, mantle
and original woodwork throughout the main structure. Also take note of the painting
of the home that shows it before the side porch was enclosed. Dick Schierloh, a
former resident of the district, painted it as a gift to Mia's parents. An interesting
feature of the Stewart home is the original basement exit that is visible at the
east side of the home. Only model F homes built in 1919 were designed with this
exit due to the central placement of the staircase. This brick home was originally
purchased on November 4, 1919 for $7,750.
