Meeting called to review and vote on plans for an addition to 22049 Gregory,
owned by Timothy Kish and family.
Existing home is approximately 1,790 SF. Estimated that addition would add 550
SF.
Major points of contention from FHHD Building Committee (which met on 7/5/00
to review plans) included windows (which Mr. Kish advised was a "non-issue"),
roof line (concerned over the large amount of roof added), and building over a lot
line (non-issue as the lots had been joined into one several years ago).
The Board expressed concern over the large amount of frontage that the addition
would add to the existing home û 22 ft to the existing 31 ft. Both the Board
and the Committee felt this would be out of proportion.
Mr. Kish pointed out that there is a large tree at the corner of the home that
may help to "mask" the addition. Mr. Kish was mindful of the Preservation
Guidelines, pointing out several features of the addition that are in keeping with
the guidelines. He further stated that he and his family chose to add on rather
than moving out of the neighborhood.
22049 Gregory is the only Ford home that sits on a lot and a half, and the only
Ford home on the south side of Gregory Street (the home had been moved from Francis
many years ago and relocated to its present position).
Largest concern of Board was the front view/projection of the home with the addition.
Initial vote (verbal): 3 Yes / 3 No
Second vote (ballot): 2 Yes / 5 No
The Board rejected the plans and noted the rejection on the submitted plans.
The plans were immediately returned to the homeowner. Copies have been retained
by the Board of Directors.
