Spring District Meeting on Thursday, April 21, 2005 at 7:30p

Volunteers are needed for the Halloween Walk (front yard) and Santa Visit (garage).  Teresa to add item to newsletter.

Nothing new to report on the Holiday Home Tour.

Teresa reviewed the remaining inventory of FHHD merchandise.  All agreed that the merchandise needed to be sold at clearance so that new merchandise could be ordered.  Mike has received limited responses to the survey currently posted to the FHHD website.  The Board will use those responses to decide what new merchandise will be purchased.  Suggestions received at the Spring District Meeting included water bottles and tote bags.

Ruth Assenmacher checked into purchasing Cat’s Meow collectibles for a commemorative item for the Home Tour and 85th anniversary.  Art preparation is $140+, and minimum order is 72 pieces.  FHHD approximate out-of-pocket is $1300.  Ruth advised that Cat’s Meow will send color selections.  Officers and Ruth will meet to further discuss purchase.

Ruth was unanimously appointed by the officers as Merchandise Captain.  The position is a direct report to the Board. Mike to clean under the basement stairs so Ruth has a place to store FHHD merchandise.

All reviewed the current newsletter for comment / suggestion.  Nothing to note.  The next newsletter will be distributed in late May, just prior to the Edison Street Sale.

Mike reviewed the list of volunteers that will the District tent at the Edison Street Sale.  Mike to contact Scott Smith to reserve a District tent.

The new District street signs have been delivered, and now need to be installed.  Kurt Klimkiewicz has a list of volunteers willing to help install the signs.  Installation should begin the week of May 17, 2004.

Park Street Park clean-up and Military Street median planting day is Saturday, May 22, 2004 at 10:00a.  Mike and Leon will rototill the medians on May 15, 2004 in preparation of planting.  Liz Malone has offering to get flats of petunias again for planting.  Mike will follow up with Liz.  Mike advised that, if there are not enough volunteers to plant the medians and clean up the park, then the park clean up will be rescheduled at a later date.

Amy advised that the benches in the park have been damaged and should be replaced.  Mike suggested that this decision be tabled until the Fall meeting so that the Officers can budget 2005 projects / purchases at that time.  Amy also suggested that a plaque or sign be erected in the Park Street Park to identify it as a “community” park rather than an extension of neighboring yards.  This is also tabled for the Fall meeting.

The Board unanimously voted NO to the suggestion that a popcorn popper be purchased for the District and rented to residents.

The Board unanimously voted NO to the suggestion that local merchant business cards be included in the Welcoming Packet.  Teresa to contact Kathy Neveu with the result of the vote.

Danielle and Leon Bergeron will donate a gift certificate from Merchant’s Warehouse to the Edison Street Sale raffle.  The Dearborn Inn and Double Olive Bar have already donated gift certificates to be used as raffle prizes.  FHHD merchandise will also be given as raffle prizes.

Edison Street Sale raffle tickets were distributed to officers for advance sale.

Meeting adjourned at 8:40p.
