A Special Thank You to FHHD Volunteers!

Just a quick note of THANKS! to you neighborhood green thumbs who participated recently in our two district beautification projects.  (And, it was nice to see some "old" new faces!)

The FHHD 1st Annual Perennial Exchange / Park Clean-Up was held on Saturday, May 13th at the Park Street Park.  Perennials, gardening tips and tricks were exchanged, then the gardeners went to work on the park.  The team included:

Dave and Sylvia Tillman – Nona Street

Bill Turbett – Nona Street

Don Westcott – Nona Street

Gina – Park Street

Thanks for ALL of your hard work!!

Military Street Median Planting Day took place on Saturday, May 20th.  Beautiful flowers were planted at the ends of the medians.  Saturday's crew was made up of:

Assenmacher family – Mike, Ruth, Scott and Dave – Nona

Klimkiewicz family – Kurt, Teresa, Ashleigh - Nona

Mallord family – Ron and Becky – Beech Street

Pat Coleman – Beech Street

Rachel and Sarah Helwig (former Park Street residents – now of Northville)

A special thanks for the donations to this project!  Mrs. K (the crossing guard lady) donated several yucca plants; Laura Hamilton (Nona) brought lots of daylilies; the Assenmacher and Klimkiewicz families each donated flats of flowers; and Dave Tillman provided "liquid refreshments" for the end of the day.  Thanks to ALL of you!

The Edison Street Sale is June 3rd!

Just a reminder that the Edison Street Sale is Saturday, June 3rd! Help is needed at the district tent – look for the red and white striped canopy.  Please consider dropping by and helping out – even for an hour or so!  Bake goods can be dropped off at the FHHD District sale table/tent the morning of the sale.  FHHD merchandise and tickets for door prizes will also be sold at the district tent. Hope to see you there!!

Interested in a Home and Garden Tour?

So far, we have received little interest about a district-wide home and garden tour IN LIEU OF the biennial Holiday Home Tour.  Is anybody out there?   The home tour is one of the district's largest money-making events, but unfortunately, we simply do not have an adequate number of people willing to help out during the busy holiday season.  The target date for the Home and Garden Tour is August 6th and that date is fast approaching.  Only ONE tour will be hosted this year - - the choice is yours!  The Home and Garden Tour team will NOT be available to run the Holiday Tour this year.  We need to hear from you SOON!
