Holiday Home Tour UpdateThe FHHD Holiday Home Tour was tentatively planned for Sunday, December 3rd. Unfortunately, we will not host the tour this year as we simply didn't get the volunteers needed to make the tour happen. Only two families volunteered to open their homes. A MINIMUM of 8 homes was needed to hold this event. The home tours have been one of this district's biggest events and most profitable fundraisers. The money raised is used for various improvements in the neighborhood, such as the Welcome to the Neighborhood sign on Military, plantings along the Military medians and in the Park Street Park, brick pavers in the park, district street signs. As homeowners, these improvements benefit all of us by promoting the district and generating interest in our homes. It helps increase property values and reinforces that our neighborhood is a desirable place to live. But we need and want your help to continue these events. Volunteering is a great way to support the district, stay involved, and meet your neighbors! We will try again next year to host the home tour, so mark your calendars for Sunday, December 2, 2001! If you have any questions about volunteering or participating in the tour, please contact one of the district officers. Please also feel free to share your opinions with us on how best to channel the proceeds back into the district. Thanks for your help!A special thank you to Laura Hamilton (Nona) who has, until recently, acted as the FHHD Merchandiser.
