Bake Sale Results

Thank you very much to the Rushmans on Edison for having the FHHD tent on their front yard for the Edison Street sale this year!!  Despite the morning rain, a bunch of neighbors turned out with baked goods for the annual bake sale during this yearly garage sale event.  We didn’t get all of your names, but want to give a great big

THANK YOU

to everyone for all of the delicious goodies that you donated!!!

With all of your help, we raised $209 with the sale of baked goods.  We sold most things for 50 cents each, so that is a LOT of donated baked goods!  A total of $510 was raised when the raffle and merchandise sales are added in.  This money will support FHHD projects like the Easter Egg Hunt, Santa Claus visit, FHHD web site, Pumpkin Carving Contest, and other fun

Beautiful Park Benches!!

Thanks to Dave Tillman and Kurt Klimkiewicz for rehabbing the benches in the Park Street Park.  The new wood on those benches looks great!!!

FHHD Fall Meeting

Wednesday,  Nov. 7:   7:30pm

Mark your calendars now for the FHHD Fall Meeting!. Meet your neighbors at this twice-a-year District meeting.  At this meeting, the district will pay for a babysitting service that is free to our local parents (thank you to Tammie and Sarah Rinna for helping organize this new service!).  Sarah and some other FHHD teens will be watching the children in the church nursery.

We will have photocopies of the FHHD construction pictures from the Greenfield Village collection.  Come see our historic homes when they were being built, and learn how to order copies from the village.  We also hope to have a speaker on the history of the Ford Homes at this meeting.  Stay tuned!

Halloween Eve Neighborhood Stroll

From Our Neighbors

On Tuesday, October 30, we will be holding the pumpkin carving contest.  We will invite everyone in the neighborhood to take a stroll and see the wonderful carving that everyone has done during that time, and will have a “warming station” under the FHHD tent with free cider and doughnuts.  We are looking for a front yard in the central FHHD area (Beech and Haigh area) where we can set up the neighborhood tent that evening.  If you are close to that area and are able to let us set up the tent in a corner of your yard, please contact Scott or Barb Smith (730-2174 / brksmith@hotmail.com).

Your local connection to quality kitchen tools is right in this district!  Jennifer Malone from Gregory Street is a consultant for The Pampered Chef®,  and she can come to your home to present interesting products to you and your guests.  There are many

incentives for hosting a show.  Please give Jennifer a call for more details or for a free catalog:  274-4973

Congratulations to Kurt

Klimkiewicz & Scott Smith!

These FHHD home brewers

won first place in their class

Please be aware…

There have been a couple of unauthorized entries and/or vandalism of neighborhood garages lately.  Please pay a little extra attention and keep your garage doors locked.

We have had fliers in the neighborhood advertising household repairs.  One of our neighbors received bad service from one of these handymen.  Please remember to be cautious and check with neighbors and references before hiring someone to do household work.

Thank You!

Our thanks to Josh Billups for mowing the Park Street park this year.

Great job!
